Day 1: Hanoi – Overnight Train to Lao Cai (D)
Your guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to Hanoi. You’ll have some free time to explore the city on your own before meeting the rest of the group at the hotel for a trip briefing. In the evening, our van will drive you to the train station for an overnight train to Lao Cai.
Day 2: Sapa – Supan Valley 20 km (B, L)
You’ll arrive in Lao Cai early in the morning and transfer to Sapa for breakfast. After a short rest, we’ll have a bike fitting and begin a 20 km cycling trip into the Sapa Valley. We’ll stay overnight in Sapa.
Day 3: Sapa – Ta Phin Loop 30 km (B, L)
In the morning, we’ll cycle off-road to the village of Ta Phin. The ride will gradually become more challenging as we scale steep, forested hillsides. The scenery is spectacular, with farms and minority villages lining the paths. We’ll stay overnight in Sapa.
Day 4: Sapa – Tam Duong (Phong Tho) – Pa So 80 km (B, L)
We’ll begin the day with a brief uphill cycle as a warm-up to the Tram Ton Pass. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a long descent to Binh Lu. From there, we’ll ride off the beaten path onto a jeep track of hard-packed gravel and clay, passing through Tam Duong to Pa So. We’ll stay overnight in Pa So.
Day 5: Pa So – Sin Ho – Lai Chau (now Muong Lay) 45 km (B, L)
We’ll take on a tough but rewarding ride to Lai Chau and Sin Ho, where the views are simply breathtaking. We’ll settle down for the night in Lai Chau.
Day 6: Lai Chau – Tuan Giao – Dien Bien Phu 90 km (B, L)
This will be the most challenging day of the tour. We’ll cycle 90 km on rough tarmac terrain to Tuan Giao and Dien Bien Phu, passing through stunning remote villages and untouched landscapes. We’ll stay overnight in Dien Bien Phu.
Day 7: Dien Bien Phu – Hanoi (B, L)
In the morning, we’ll take a half-day tour of the historical sites of Dien Bien Phu. By late morning, we’ll catch a flight to Hanoi and transfer into town, marking the end of the trip.
